Facebook brings up a new tool to help ‘revenge porn’ victims

Facebook has just launched a new Artificial Intelligence tool to help ‘revenge porn’ victims. The tool will detect and remove intimate pictures and videos posted without the subject’s consent.


The social media giants claims that the machine learning tool will make sure the posts, commonly referred to as ‘revenge porn’, are taken down saving the victim from having to report them.

Facebook users or victims of unauthorised uploads currently have to flag the inappropriate pictures before content moderators will review them. The company has also suggested that users send their own intimate images to Facebook so that the service can identify any unauthorised uploads.

Many users are reluctant to share revealing photos or videos with the social-media giant, particularly given its history of privacy failures. This is the latest attempt to rid the platform of abusive content after coming under fire after moderators claimed they were developing post traumatic stress disorder.

The company’s new machine learning tool is designed to find and flag the pictures automatically, then send them to humans to review. Social media sites across the board have struggled to monitor and contain abusive content users upload, from violent threats to inappropriate photos.

The company has faced harsh criticism for allowing offensive posts to stay up too long and sometimes for removing images with artistic or historical value. Facebook has said it’s been working on expanding its moderation efforts, and the company hopes its new technology will help catch some inappropriate posts.

The technology, which will be used across Facebook and Instagram, is trained using pictures that Facebook has previously confirmed were revenge porn. It recognises a ‘nearly nude’ photo, for example, a lingerie shot, coupled with derogatory text which would suggest someone uploaded the photo to embarrass or seek revenge on someone else.

In the event of the controversy surrounding actress Etinosa and singer MC Galaxy over her naked video that happened on his live Instagram feed, MC Galaxy has said he won't cut off his next live videos because of naked girls.

While reacting to the blasting of people, the singer shared a new photo stating that he’s not ready to blame himself if such happens again and whoever will call into his live video on Instagram should do so on their own free will.

MC Galaxy however asked to advise their friends, girlfriends and sisters not to call in naked because he won’t stop the video for them.

Man accuses Ethiopian Airlines Nigeria of Scam

A man has taken to Twitter to accuse Ethiopian Airlines Lagos, Nigeria office of fraud, and ripping customers off.

The Twitter user, @nelpeace18, alleged that if you re-book a ticket you didn’t buy from the Lagos office of Ethiopian Airlines, they will give excuses till you are forced to buy a new ticket.

See what he wrote below;

It is very embarrassing when you come into the country without stress and when you want to return to your outstation @ethipianairline NG will stop you from boarding because one flimsy excuse or the other till you are forced to buy another ticket.
A ticket was booked for me by the organisation I am working with, to and from Saudi, but for some unforeseen circumstances my return date was rebooked. After my vacation, I went to the Ethiopian Airline Office to confirm my ticket I was told I have a booking 

but the ticket has not been changed to the new date, that I should contact the agent that got the ticket for me. I contacted the agent they sent me the confirmation of ticket I went back to Ethiopian Airline Lagos, they refused me travelling with the rebooked ticket, 

I had to buy another ticket to travel. When I got to my station I complained to my employer, we contacted Ethiopian Airline Office in Saudi Arabia they told me my ticket is OK, that the problem is with their Office in Nigeria,


that should not have refused me boarding. They now sent me the ticket for my wife who is supposed to come back on the 25th of March 2019. The Ethiopian Airline office in Lagos started the same issue, they had with me again, 

that she cannot travel with the ticket, she will have to buy another ticket. I don’t know why we keep making things very difficult for ourselves. It is a regular occurrence with Ethiopian Airline office in Lagos if you rebook a ticket you did not buy from them, 

they will use one flimsy excuse to reject the ticket and you will be forced to buy a new one. Thereby, ripping innocent passengers off. They need to be called to order asap

Patience Jonathan’s wife lose another N2.4bn to FG

Exactly eight days after the Supreme Court upheld Federal Government’s interim seizure of the $8.4 million believed to be owned by ex-First Lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, the apex court has again agreed to a similar forfeiture of another N2.4bn linked with Mrs. Jonathan.

The Nation reports that, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said the N2,421,953,522.00 was said to be held in bank accounts owned by Lawari Furniture and Bath Limited, an entity in which Mrs. Jonathan allegedly has interest.


In a judgment yesterday, a five-man panel of the Supreme Court rejected the appeal by Lawari Furniture on the grounds that it was without merit. The appeal was filed and argued for the appellant by Mike Ozekhome (SAN).

I bleached My Skin to Get movie roles in Nigerian - Ella Mensah

Popular Ghanaian actress, Ella Mensah, has shed light that she bleached her skin to obtain roles in Nigerian movies.

She said this in an interview with Delay,  revealing that she was dark skinned before going to Nigerian but had to bleach her skin to get roles in Nigerian movies because it was the only way she reasoned she could fit in.

She said;

“I’ve bleached. I don't use creams, I use injection”.

Ella Mensah had before now revealed that Nigerian movie producers and directors prefer giving roles to light-skinned actresses, at the detriment of talented dark skinned actresses.

The actress who had bemoaned the state of the government hospitals in Lagos after visiting one, took to her IG to blast the government.

Speaking with Punch, Kemi further expressed her thoughts saying she was shocked many individuals attacked her for using a government hospital as a celebrity.

In her words;

“It is sad that people judge us by the way they see us in movies. I am not rich, I am just a thriving career woman who wants the best for herself and her children. I believe that as an individual, I can walk into any government establishment of which the hospital I went to was one of them. I live in Ikeja, so going to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital wasn’t a bad idea. The government has a whole lot to do.

“There should be government hospitals in residential areas; it doesn’t cost the government anything to do that. The government owes the masses adequate health facilities and good health care. I am going to make more noise about this; they need to start renovating these hospitals. A hospital should be a place where people go to and feel comfortable, not going there and coming back with another ailment. I am sure the government is disbursing funds to the health sector, but it is probably being embezzled.

“I saw a lot of people sleeping on the floor, the drip stands were not sufficient. It is not mere hearsay, I saw these things myself. Bed spaces were not even enough, basic things need to be provided. These are minor things that the government needs to look into. I don’t even think the doctors are properly paid.

“I am extremely scared of the future of my children and the generation to come in this country. I am doing this for the next generation. These people are just wicked, they go to treat themselves abroad and they know how things are done over there. I have lived abroad for about five years and I know how things are done.

“Here, even the air you breathe in the government hospitals is irritating. This is for the future of our children; I was abroad because my husband was based there. I had to come back to focus on my career. For people that have not come back, they have their reasons. When they even hear about the bad things happening in this country, will they want to come back?” she told Saturday Beats.

Okwui Enwezor Dies at 55

Okwui Enwezor, who is a renowned art curator, poet, and educator, has given up the ghost after a fight with cancer.

The cause of his death has resulted with his struggle with cancer. He was 55 years old.

After Enwezor had stepped down as director of the Haus der Kunst in June, citing he's health reasons, he had an interview with the German magazine Der Spiegel, two months later where he revealed that he had been battling cancer for three years and had undergone several treatments tothat..

Before his death, Enwezor was the only African-born curator to organise two prestigious exhibitions– the 2015 Venice Biennale and Documenta 11 in 2002.

He was also the artistic director at The Haus Der Kunst from 2011 to 2018.

In a tribute on Twitter, the Venice Biennale praised the late Enwezor for his “courageous contributions” to art.

A 24-year old Nigerian student based in Ghana said to be evicted by her landlady for always making loud noise when she having sex.

According to the landlady, she received complains from neighbours about the noise the young Nigerian lady makes during sex.

“Every house has a rule that one has to adhere to when renting an apartment. I have a big house which I rent out.

I rented out a single room self-contained to a beautiful young Nigerian lady who is a student in one of the universities in Kumasi for three years (2017-2020).

I confronted her several times on this issue and even advised her to reduce her noise making but it fell on deaf ears.

Recently, two other neighbours confronted me about the lady’s noisemaking and added that is either they vacate the apartment or I ask the young lady to leave.

I have complained to her several times but to no avail so I have no choice than to ask her to leave”, the Landlady disclosed."

Lady dumps man who sponsored her and siblings to school, gets married

A Twitter user has narrated how a man dated a girl for 4 years, sponsoring her to school and also paid for the school fees of her younger ones only for her to pay him back by dumping him and married someone else.

The lady’s action makes the Twitter user accept that everything gender is scum because now she sees that women too  breaks heart and not only men are guilty of it.

Yesterday, a viral video of a smart little girl sadly expressing her anger after the principal of her school sent her away from school back home because her parents were unable to promptly pay her school fees, surfaced online.

While many people reacted to the video, applauding the girl for her boldness in expressing herself as well as her sheer display of the unquenching urge to get educated, OAP Toke Makinwa, expressed disgust and anger at the way in which most school authorities chose to humiliate and shame children because their parents are not able to pay their fees.

Posting via her IG, she wrote;

"I am so sick to my stomach watching this. No child should be put under pressure, no child should be humiliated and made to suffer for wanting a better life. I’ve often wondered why flogging students who can’t pay or chasing them back home or in some cases publishing their names or calling them out on assembly ground is necessary, what point are you trying to prove? Embarrass their parents? Damage their self esteem, make them a laughing stock amongst their peers??? Of what use is this act exactly? Oh you flog or send them home so their parents can feel bad and embarrassed till they find the money right? 

What is the child’s offense? Do they have a source of livelihood? Why do they have to suffer? Did they ask to be born?? It has been happening from time in memorial and I think it’s time we spoke against it. Why dehumanize them? Why embarrass them? Why flog them when they clearly can’t work to afford the school fees? Why??! I understand schools need money, I understand that some of these schools are not government owned and need funding to stay open but this is a shame, we must do something about it. 

What happened to dialogue with the parents? What happened to working out a payment plan???? This young princess is the leader of tomorrow and her bravery and enthusiasm broke me, that should encourage them to nurture her and not break her down. Even if we find her confidence funny, her self esteem is being bruised by the school authorities who believe they have to flog her cos her parents can’t pay them to teach her. Sad ? ???

Two Corp Members to Carry over their Service in Benue for Absconding

Mr Joshua Shicha, the Benue State coordinator, National Youth Service Corps, on Thursday said two corps members of the 2018 Batch ‘A’ had been “remobilised” in Benue State.

In an interview with a Punch correspondent in Makurdi, he stated that the two corpers, who he refused to name, were remobilised for running away. He explained that the corps members were not seen in their place of primary assignment for three months.

He said;

“Two corps members were remobilised in the state. Any corps member who left the place of his primary assignment for a period of three months automatically is to repeat the corps service year. Those people were not found in the various places of assignment within a period of three months. So, we communicated to the National Directorate at National Headquarters concerning this case of abscondment and we were directed from Abuja that they should be remobilised.”

He advised ex-corps members to remain disciplined and good ambassadors of the scheme.

Tribunal grants Buhari and APC's request to Check Out presidential election materials

The Election Petition Tribunal for the February 23rd presidential election has conceded access to President Buhari and the All Progressives Congress (APC) to review the materials utilized for the election.

President Buhari and the APC had said in a discrete motion for ex parte requests to be allowed to them to examine the materials.

The applications were made in readiness of its defence team against anticipated petitions to be documented by Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), testing the result of the decision.

Prior on March 6, 2019, the council, driven by Justice Abdu Aboki, allowed same request to PDP to examine the election materials. In the decision issued on Thursday, the council allowed Buhari and APC authorization to assess the appointive materials and get ensured duplicates of the archives from INEC.

Nigerian musician, Donjazzy has defended pornstars reacting to the engagement of  Mia Khalifa an Ex-pornstar.

Following the ex- pornstar’s engagement to Swedish chef ,Robert Sandberg any we’re putting across the notion that bad girls marry first while good girls remain single .

Popular Hip-hop star, Chance The Rapper, and his wife, Kirsten Corley, who recently got married are already expecting their second child, a baby girl.

Kirsten shared the amazing news on Instagram by posting a sexy photo of herself in a bikini as she cradled her growing baby bump and wrote: 'Oh yeah, we're pregnant.'

Chance who already has a three-year-old daughter with his wife also took to his Instagram to share the news with his fans. He wrote: 'New baby droppin September' he shared a picture of the Notes page of his iPhone.
