Here see some celebrities who have struggled and overcame drug addiction. To be a celebrity has its own disadvantages, but also it comes with a lot of pressure and expectations. Sometimes, it can be too much for some of them to cope which then result in drugs for help.

Over the years, some celebrities have been able to handle the life that comes with being a celebrity while in the case of others they get so mixed in it and sometimes break down leaving them with no other option than resulting to drugs.

1.Toyin Aimakhu

Toyin Aimakhu is one of the most popular actresses in Nigeria at the moment. She has over the years shown how good she is in the business of acting. Even with all the successes, she too has been a victim of drug abuse.

During a recent interview, the beautiful actress revealed that after the separation from her ex-husband, she took to drugs including codeine. According to her, at some point, she started losing weight. Toyin Aimakhu has however recovered from drug abuse and she is doing very well.

2. Hanks Anuku

In his heydays, Hanks Anuku was probably one of the most sought-after Nollywood actors which might be as a result of his trademark foreign accent and bad boy roles. He had a very successful career back in the early 2000s.

However, he left the Nollywood industry to face politics as he was made a special assistant to the then governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan. Well, it was reported that he couldn’t even work effectively because of the effects of drug abuse. After a few years, during an interview, Hanks revealed that he sought God’s healing and received it the Synagogue Church officiated by the popular Pastor T.B. Joshua.

3. Majek Fashek

Ok, Majek Fashek was the biggest musician in Nigeria in the early 90s. He was seen as probably one of the biggest and most talented acts to have come out of Nigeria. He was signed to the famous Interscope Record label.

He was even a guest on the famous “Late Show with David Letterman.” Well, late in the 1990s Majek’s music game began to diminish as he was reported to be dealing with drugs abuse. It sure did take a big swipe on him which saw music career nosedive. Over the last few years, Majek Fashek has been seen in shows and concerts looking healthy.

MacKenzie Bezos has committed to giving away at least half her estimated $36 billion fortune to charity.

Bezos, a novelist and one of the original forces behind Amazon, said that she has joined the Giving Pledge, a world initiative whose roster includes Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Mark Zuckerberg, Michael Bloomberg and Robert F. Smith.

The move comes just months after she finalized her divorce from Amazon founder and chief executive Jeff Bezos.

“The feeling that I have now is parallel to when I first started,” the mother of two told Refinery29. “I was this young girl excited to be living my dreams and having the best time. I’m back to that phase again.”

Actress Etinosa Idemudia has said that she is focused to rise above her mistake in order to prove to young ladies that shame can't be a barrier to their shining, that they should ever allow it to tie them down.

Actress Etinosa became a trend on the internet last week after she went completely naked showing her nude in an Instagram live video by singer MC Galaxy.

The act by the actress was highly criticized by fans who found it demeaning and a shameless way of seeking attention.

However, according to a new post shared by Etinosa, she revealed that she won’t give her detractors the joy of seeing her fade into oblivion after the viral video.

“Holding Your Head Up High and Standing Tall Through Your MessA lot of people were shocked I was already a cover girl to a magazine granting interviews and hosting shows outside Lagos- Back to work. They did not expect me to rise and shine. At least not so soon they said. They would feel better if I hide my head in shame, lay low and disappear for the rest of my life. However, I will be a bigger disappointment to the girls who look up to me if I do not show them how they could also rise above their mistakes:- Own your mess up- Do not let some of the greatest weapons of failure- shame and fear keep you down… And then depression sets in… Low self-esteem and the feeling you will never be anything great comes in.-Don’t listen to that voice in your head or that acclaimed adviser Nowamagbe who constantly drums it into your ear that you have messed up and it’s the end of the road. 

Those people who take joy in analysing your mess up and how it will affect you rather than discussing way forward or just minding their own business all together. Cut them off. -The proof of a strong man is not the absence of wounds but exactly how he heals and rises for the next battle. Se ogun laye ni? Yes! Ogun l’awa!! AndThe absence of wounds only show a child who has never been in battle-As casual as this sounds “I cannot come and kill myself” it is one of the strongest tools of motivation against suicide and other regret related reactions. -Even a righteous man shall fall several times and rise up again. So don’t beat yourself upFrom recent events, I have come to realise a lot of people look up to me. Wow. Also, a lot of people dealing with shame and rejection from family and friends as well. A lot of people who have been tagged useless and worthless. Also the black sheep of families. At first I said please I’m human go and look up to Jesus Christ but then again God uses humans. As a role model I have shown you how to fall. Now, permit me to show you how to rise again like an eagle, like the Queen you are, like the Luxurious BOSS that I am. Blogger who Criticized Adesua Etomi Appearance on Vogue Magazine cover apologizes

Not Long, after the blogger who insulted actress Adesua on her appearance on the magazine’s cover alongside three white women, he wrote a new post apologising to her. First, he said she looks inferior to other women there.

However, in the new post he shared, he was apologizing to Adesua Etomi and stating that his criticism was misconstrued.

"It’s quite obvious people took my criticism the wrong way. I’m so sorry if you all didn’t get my point. Well, I apologize for my opinion. I apologize to @adesuaetomi and her fans, especially her fans cos it’s glaring they didn’t see the positive sides to my critic. But honestly speaking I am not a hater, what is there to hate? Hate that she’s on the cover of @voguemagazine? Stop tagging everyone a hater. Jealous of her success? Why would I? People called me a low life, some said I have not achieved anything in life, so I must have achieved a lot in life before I can critic? 

I didn’t call her a slave, I only said she look like a slave in the picture compared to the other ladies, why darken her skin tone to make her look black. It is ridiculous, they could have gone for another actress that is so black. Can you guys just compare her @genevievemagazine cover to that of @voguemagazine. I am surprised some people didn’t find anything wrong with her skin tone on this cover because it’s Vogue magazine. This is a big achievement for @adesuaetomi, I love her, I am happy for her and a big fan but I am disappointed with this cover. I am not biased, she looks so odd compared to others. Then some people said I’m trying to bring her down, haba, how can I bring down someone God has blessed already. Nigerians take a chill pill, it’s just an opinion. Even though I am not supposed to apologize for airing my opinion but I guess I have to cos it was taken the wrong way and already perceived as a hater… Hater?"
