Applications are invited from suitably qualified Candidates for the Lagos State University 2019/2020 Admission Screening Exercise, for Candidates seeking admission via UTME (100 level) and DIRECT Entry [200 Level]. This ONLINE Screening Exercise is mandatory requirement for entry into Lagos State University.
Candidates who have chosen Lagos State University as their First Choice Institution in the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME), and have scored a minimum of 190 marks are eligible to participate in the Online Admission Screening Exercise. In addition, Candidates must be at least 16 years of age, by 1st October, 2019.
ALL Pre-Degree Studies (PDS) students who have successfully completed their studies and wish to be considered for admission into Lagos State University in the 2019/2020 Academic Session, who must have chosen Lagos State University as their First Choice Institution in the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME), and have scored a minimum of 190 marks are eligible to participate in the Online Admission Screening Exercise.
ALL Direct Entry Candidates, including LASU Foundation (JUPEB) Programme, who wish to be considered for admission into Lagos State University for the 2019/2020 Academic Session, who must have obtained Direct Entry Form from JAMB are also eligible and must apply for the Screening Exercise.
Candidates of Lagos State Origin, for 100 & 200 Levels who have proved their claims before the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (lIVC) set up by the Lagos State University must fill in their IIVC code on the Screening Portal.

3. On the LASU E-payment portal, select “Payment for FTU Admission Screening”
Complete the text boxes as follow:

Having generated the Remita RRR code, you can make payment [s] with any of the following options:
Clicking on the MAKE PAYMENT box displaying on the invoice
Browse on remita.net and click on PAY AN INVOICE. Here you will make use of the remita RRR code that you have already generated on your invoice.
Take the Remita RRR code to the Bank, and effect your payment with the RRR code.
Pay using your internet bank. Select Pay A Bill, and make use of the Remita RRR code that you have already generated on your invoice.

STEP I

Use your JAMB Registration Number AND the printed Screening PIN to login to the LASU Online Screening Platform at https://services.lidc.lasu.edu.ng/admissionscreening for the Screening after Selecting UTME or Direct Entry (DE) Button.

Carefully fill in your personal details as required
Upload passport photograph NOT MORE THAN 20KB (JPEG)
Save and proceed

Scan and Upload UTME result slip NOT MORE THAN 30KB (PDF)

Candidates must possess Five (5) O' Level Credits in subjects relevant to their desired course of study at not more than Two (2) sittings, except Medicine and Dentistry that require ONLY One [1] sitting.
Candidates who wish to study any Engineering Course and wish to use Two (2) sitting of O’Level Results must possess Six (6) O' Level Credits in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language, One [1] Science subject and any other subject.
Aeronautic and Astronautic Engineering require a Credit pass in Further Mathematics.
Candidates with Awaiting Result status are also eligible to apply for the Screening.
Credit in English Language is compulsory for admission into all courses in Lagos State University.
Candidates must ENSURE they upload their O’Level results on JAMB CAPS before the closure of the Admission Screening Exercise.
Candidates of Lagos State Origin who have proved their claims before the Independent Indigeneship Verification Committee (IIVC) Committee MUST fill in their IIVC code on the Screening Portal.

10 telecom masts shut down in Bayelsa State by angry Ijaw youths
Today, a Task Force of the Ijaw Youths Council (IYC), Central Zone raided and shut down facilities belonging to telecommunication companies in Bayelsa State following unresolved disputes on awards of quick-win contracts.
The task force, which was set up by the IYC zonal Chairman, Kennedy Olorogun, picketed facilities belonging to MTN, GLO, Airtel, 9Mobile and other telecommunication companies across Yenagoa metropolis.
Hundreds of the youths stormed 10 telecom masts and disconnected them, leaving subscribers stranded and the affected companies losing millions of Naira. The youths, who chanted solidarity songs, said they would no longer allow the companies to continue with the practice of awarding their jobs to only non-indigenes especially contracts to supply diesel to their facilities.
The Olorogun-led IYC has been at loggerheads with telecom companies operating in the state following discoveries by the council that the firms engaged only non-indigenes in their jobs and contracts. IYC wrote many letters to the management of the telecom companies on the need to correct the imbalance insisting that the council would no longer tolerate the companies’ practice of outsourcing diesel supply to only non-indigenes in the state.
Following lack of responses to all the letters, Olorogun in separate letters issued 14-day ultimatum to the companies to act or risk disruption of their operations in the state. Olorogun said the picketing occurred because the ultimatum expired about three days ago but the companies failed to act to avert the threat.
He said:
“The companies were playing with us. They failed to act. Instead, they wanted to bribe me but I am not the kind of leader that collects bribe. We want them to do the right thing. They should address the issues. We are hosting their facilities. They can’t be giving all their jobs to outsiders”.
He warned that the Monday action was a tip of the iceberg adding that massive disconnections would hit the companies if they failed to address their grievances. Shortly after the picketing, communication network failures were recorded in most parts of the capital city as subscribers living in the affected areas could no longer make or receive calls.

A man was immediately rescued and taken to the hospital after his wife allegedly stabbed him twice in his stomach.
A twitter user took to his page to reveal that his brother’s wife allegedly stabbed him twice in an attempt to murder him before he was rushed to the hospital.
The man identified as Yahaya Maiyaki who resides in the Northern part of Nigeria is currently battling for his life after suffering several stab wounds allegedly inflicted on him by his wife. Although, the incident is currently being investigated by the Police, his wife is currently at large. She was reported to have ran away after committing the crime.
Yahaya’s younger brother tweeted;

Trump announces ‘landmark agreement’ with Guatemala to restrict asylum claims
President Trump on Friday announced a so-called "safe third country" deal with Guatemala to restrict asylum claims to the United States from Central America, calling it a “landmark agreement” and arguing it “will put the coyotes and smugglers out of business."
"We've long been working with Guatemala and now we can do it the right way," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office, with Guatemalan interior minister Enrique Degenhart at his side.
Trump told reporters he believes “this will really help” with the situation at the border.
“This is a very big day,” he said.
The agreement would require migrants, including Salvadorans and Hondurans, who cross into Guatemala on their way to the U.S. to apply for protections in Guatemala instead of at the U.S. border. It could potentially ease the crush of migrants overwhelming the U.S. immigration system and hand Trump a concession he could herald as a win as he struggles to live up to his campaign promises on immigration.
The announcement comes after a court in California blocked Trump's most restrictive asylum effort to date, one that would effectively end protection at the southern border.
The two countries had been negotiating such an agreement for months, and Trump threatened Wednesday to place tariffs or other consequences on Guatemala if it didn't reach a deal.
It's not clear how the agreement will take effect. Guatemala's Constitutional Court has granted three injunctions preventing its government from entering into a deal without approval of the country's congress.

Missing 4-year-old girl was found dead in a pit toilet, Police says she was Raped
Naledi Chaka, the 4-years-old missing girl was found lifeless in a pit latrine.
She went missing in South Africa on Sunday, and was found dead in a pit toilet in Bloemfontein on July 25 2019. Police claim she had been raped.
A 36-year-old man was arrested by police after her body was found. He is said to have lured the little girl with sweets into his home.
Naledi Chaka was last seen near her home in Selosesha, Zone Two, on Sunday.
“About 5pm, an unknown male asked the little girl to go with him and promised to buy her sweets,” said police spokesperson Col Thandi Mbambo.
On the day Chaka went missing, she was been dressed in a grey and pink jacket, blue pants and black running shoes.
On Wednesday, police found her pants and shoes near her home.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Thaba’Nchu Magistrate’s Court soon on charges of kidnapping, rape and murder.

Bindi Irwin reveals how she will honor her late father Steve Irwin
Just days after Bindi Irwin revealed that she and longtime boyfriend Chandler Powell are engaged, the conservationist is sharing how she will honor her late father, famed animal expert Steve Irwin, at her upcoming wedding.
In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Bindi and Chandler revealed that they are planning to have the big day take place sometime next year.
The 21-year-old also shared that for her, in particular, one of the most important aspects of the couple's wedding day is incorporating her family as well as paying tribute to her dad.
Bindi explained to the outlet that she's had plans that she's thought about since she was "a little girl" with one of them being that she wants her younger brother, Robert Irwin, to walk her down the aisle, filling the role that would have been her father's.
"I think that for me, it'll be really important that Robert walks me down the aisle," Bindi said. "That's something that I really want to do.
"I'm always so grateful that Robert is there, and he has been such a big part of my life and he's always stepped up and been the one to give me a hug when I need it and encourage me forward in life," she continued. "So he will definitely be the one to walk me down the aisle when the time comes, and I think that will make it really special." "And I think that's what dad would have wanted as well," Bindi noted.
When it comes to the traditional father-daughter dance, Bindi said she will turn to her mom, Terri Irwin, for the honor.
"I think, if I was going to do a dance, it would be with my mom," she shared. "My mom and I are so close. She's my pillar of strength in life and I love her beyond description.
"So I think, when the time comes, Robert will walk me down the aisle, [Chandler and I] will have our wonderful moment and I'll have my dance with mom," Bindi added. "I think that would be wonderful."
On Sept. 4, 2006, Irwin, more commonly known as the "Crocodile Hunter," was killed by a stingray while filming off the Great Barrier Reef. He was 44 and Bindi was just 8-years-old at the time.
Along with looking to her mom for the special dance, both Bindi and Chandler have gone to Terri for relationship advice.
"She said to me a few months ago, she said, 'Your dad and I used to always talk about what makes a perfect marriage, or a really wonderful marriage, and what's interesting is that for us, it was kind of that feeling of comfort,'" Bindi recalled.
She continued: "So you know, your relationship can be this wonderful, exciting adventure, but you want to find someone who, at the end of the day, you're really comfortable with."
Bindi went on to reveal that Terri once compared the love that she and her late husband had to a favorite pair of beloved "old shoes."
"It sounds really weird, but if you have your most comfortable pair of shoes, you can always count on them, you know, that they're always gonna hold up, and they'll walk you through life and they're dependable," Bindi explained.
"And she said, 'That's what our marriage was. It was like the most comfortable pair of shoes... That's what you're looking for, so you can enjoy all of this wonderful adventure, but then at the end of the day, you'll come home to someone who will always be there for you and who will back you up and just be that comfort and support in your life.'
"Her marriage advice is so wonderful because I feel like that's what we have," Bindi gushed.

PMNews reported that 2 bank staff were caught having an ‘i*timate moment’ in an office after work hours over the weekend.
The incident was reported to have taken place at Access bank, its University of Lagos branch.

The 35-year-old father was granted bail by the Police after he was arrested for defiling his one-month-old daughter but was then re-arrested after public outcry and charged before a court who has now granted him bail.

6-year-old YouTube star, Boram Tube is said to have bought a massive skyscraper. Boram Tube Vlog and Boram Tube Toy Review star who is just 6 years old has spent $8 million on a massive skyscraper building in Seoul’s affluent Gangnam district.
According to MirrorUk, the youngster and her parents make at least $3.1 million every month by running the two YouTube channels.
The youngster, known as Boram, has more than 30 million subscribers.
And she and her parents have bought the building in Seoul’s posh Gangnam district for $8 million (£6.4 million). The building was built in 1975 on 258.3 square meters of land.

27-year old unemployed graduate commits suicide, blames mother and landlord
A 27-year old unemployed graduate, Nsisong Okon Etim, has committed suicide in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state citing hardship and constant harassment for rent by his landlord as reasons for his fatal action.
The deceased, who lived along Ubong Edet Street within Effat Ikot Udo Offot community in Uyo is said to have completed his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) last year, and had taken to private business of retailing of cooking gas along the Old Ring Road, Uyo, “because of inability to find immediate job”.
The deceased Nsisong, said to be one of the sons of the late Village Head of the community, Chief Etim Eton, according to her sister, Miss Edidiong Okon Etim, “was very discreet and keeping always to himself.
“He rarely eats from our mother’s kitchen; he normally cooked for himself until he returned on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 from his shop in the evening and ended his life that night”, she explained amid tears.
It was gathered that the deceased had locked himself in his room was later found hanging on the rafter dressed only in boxers.
In his suicide note, the late Nsisong states that he had to take the hard decision to escape from constant worries and disturbances from his mother, step-brother and the landlord whose shop he rented to sell cooking gas.
His distraught mother, identified as Mrs. Patience Eton, was still in shock when his remains was lowered from the rafters for ritual and burial, as such could not speak.

6 Mistakes Every Ministers Should Avoid - Pastor Femi Lazarus

It is important that we know that no minister of God is exempted from mistakes, the mistakes, however, can be minimized through the operation of wisdom and a teachable heart.
I have taught times and times again that in any Ministry, the first set of sons and daughters there can only survive under the one leading them by allowing forgiveness reign in their hearts.
Here are a few terrible mistakes that ministers of God must run away from:
Many church members may not be able to say it, but it doesn’t change the fact that it hurts them.
1) Don’t make the mistake of bringing people’s personal issues that they brought to you on the basis of trust and respect to the pulpit while ministering.
Don’t fall to the temptation of thinking that they are not on seat, those who are on seat and also know about the issue will call to tell them after the meeting. When a trusted priest brings up the people’s matter on the pulpit to either scorn them or teach others lessons from it, it Pierces the people’s hearts and makes them vulnerable to offenses. It is betrayal, it is an abuse of power and sacred position of authority.
2) Don’t correct personal issues that you could discuss with a person personally on the altar with the thought that the fellow will understand better, it is cowardice to do so, it doesn’t show strength, it shows weaknesses all over.
Personal issues should be dealt with personally, and that for the congregation should be dealt with congregationally.
3) Teach people to be faithful and loyal, but don’t fall into the pitfall of putting them under the pressure of staying around you in the days of plenty because you have been there in their days of lack. I have had to pray about this particular one very well, and I have had to conclude that anytime people have to stay around a Ministry for anything else other than love, then the rest becomes manipulations. Should people do good back to a people that have supported them when they were not strong enough? yes! But they should know that they are not under any pressure to do so, it is only good to do so.
4) Avoid the mistake of coming to the pulpit to preach ministers who have offended you than God’s word itself. Preach the scripture, stay consistent with it, if you do so, you will stay longer and relevant around the things of Ministry.
In all cases, it is better to be quiet on a subject matter than to vent in anger and offenses.
No minister of God should ever leave the people wondering who he was referring to after preaching.

5) I have observed and discovered that Ministry and ministers who live all their lives dealing with petty issues don’t grow. Some issues are to be completely ignored while the parties involved settle their issues amongst themselves. The moment the clergy gets himself roped in every matter, soon the people will begin to see him as being biased, particularly the parties that are falling short in his judgments.
6 ) Avoid the temptation of using prophesy to match make members as husband and wife. I have encouraged Christians over and over again that they are never to be trapped in a web where someone is trying to prophesy a spouse into their lives, it will always backfire.
Dear minister, even when you have an incline that two people are meant for each other, kindly let them pray and discover on their own, it is more honourable that way.
Lastly, avoid the mistake of the indiscriminate relationship between opposite sex. Dear male pastor, please stop asking ladies to come to see you at August hours of the day, kindly resist the temptation of falling in love randomly. The fact that you are anointed is enough reason for many ladies to like you and want you for a future partner, kindly ask God for wisdom to handle situations like this. Make your relationship public, don’t refer to your spouse as your sister, you are not Abraham.
Please note this, at some points of greatness, it is possible that even some of your so-called friends may not be able to handle it, kindly remain focused and humble.
I hope this helps someone, this helps the work of God in someone’s hands, and it is received sincerely in humility love.

A set of identical twin sisters who have always dreamt of getting married together eventually came true this month as they both got married at the same time to men of the same state.
Oluwabunmi Oba said she and her twin sister went to same primary school, graduated from same polytechnic, and same university, and have always been roommates. She said they dreamt of getting married on the same day. But they feared this might not be so as they have no control over love and how it will play out.
But, as fate will have it, it worked as they hoped. Both women got married on the same day to different men who are from the same state.
"Dreams do come true," Oluwabunmi said as she shared photos of her and her twin dressed in identical outfits on their traditional wedding day.

WHY SOME SPIRITUAL LADIES MAY NOT POSSIBLE HAVE ANY COMPANION - PST FEMI LAZARUS
This is a very delicate matter, and I have been particularly praying for wisdom to handle this matter for days now.
As a lead pastor of a church of 100% youths, as the ladies grow older, my concerns get stronger. Most of those that I consider “the best” are usually the ones who struggle in this area. Sometimes I get cranky and feel church guys are looking for something else and not good relationship, but is this true? Definitely not! There are plenty of good boys in church.
To solve big problems you need to answer honest questions. I began asking questions like;
Why do I consider them as good girls?
It is very simple, I know them. I am their pastor. I have seen them handle various issues, I have seen both their divine and human part.
Why are guys not seeing this?
It is also very simple.
To answer this we need to look at the law of projection. ” People will believe more of what they see of you than what you really are”
Most of them project themselves as too perfect, they project just the church part, just the tongues, and the prophetic nature, they mask themselves behind the veil of religion.
They mostly lie about their human part because of fear of persecution and rejection in their circle. Little do they know that there are broken people just like them in their circle who need a lady who will complement them and not judge them. Most of these guys are afraid of them, they want a wife and not a judge, they want a babe and not a pastor, they want a friend and not a prophetess. This is marriage, you know!
When questions are asked in church, the brothers quietly watch the way they scramble around the word “sex” it sends chills down the spines of prospective brothers, and in most cases, the brothers themselves are also masquerading, they know much more than they are projecting, and the ladies are held in tight corner. Things deceit does to holy people!
Sometimes the issue itself is not lack of prayer, it may be that prayer is all we do and we haven’t been flexible enough to change and review some aspects of our lives.
Sometimes the issue is not that we don’t serve God enough, maybe we do but we don’t understand what it means to be ourselves without religious filters.
One more thing that I have come to notice is; sometimes many let the bitterness that came as a result of disappointments to eat up their perception of Christian brothers. The more the brothers perceive their anger, the more they run away.
Apart from the issue of dressing, presentation, backgrounds, and health issues (which is a sensitive one), one more hinderance could be lack of flexibility as a result of religious colorations.
I put it to you; you are not just a lady-pastor, you are a beautiful woman, you are not just a ministry gift, you are a lovely lady. Strike the balance, it might be the only stone you have left to turn.
Beyond the disappointments you have experienced, God still has good boys, and they are all over the place.

Rapper Meek Mill conviction in a drug case overturned by Pennsylvania appeals court
A Pennsylvania appeals court on Wednesday overturned rapper Meek Mill's conviction in a drug and gun case that has kept the rapper on probation for a decade and made him a celebrity crusader for criminal justice reform.
The unanimous three-judge opinion granted the rapper a new trial because of new evidence of alleged police corruption and said he would likely be acquitted if the case is retried.
"We conclude the after-discovered evidence is of such a strong nature and character that a different verdict will likely result at a retrial," the opinion said.
Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley had kept Williams on probation for 10 years over his arrest in 2007 at age 19. He is now 32 and has been called back to court repeatedly over technical violations of his parole, many of them involving travel issues as he has risen to fame under the mentorship of music mogul Jay-Z.
Mill, whose real name is Robert Rihmeek Williams, became a symbol for criminal justice reform after Brinkley sent him back to prison in 2017.
The officer who testified at his trial said Williams pointed a gun at him during the arrest outside his southwest Philadelphia home. Williams has denied pointing a gun at police.
Calls seeking comment from prosecutors about whether they plan to retry the case were placed Wednesday.

It gladens my heart to inform you that the Anambra State Commissioner For Women and children affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue, has intervened in the matter of a girl being maltreated by her biological mother in Amawbia Anambra State.
The woman in question is one Ms. Charity Owor, a native of Efion, near Izamgbo, Ishienu LGA, Ebonyi State.
She is a single mother with four children.
The young girl being maltreated is her second child, 7 years old, Favor Owor, they both live at Ngene Amawbia, Awka South LGA, Anambra State.
The girl and her younger siblings are already being taking care of by the ministry and the woman is currently undergoing counselling under the supervision of the ministry’s child department.
According to the honorable commissioner for women affairs, who swong into action on hearing report of the abuse, cautioned that there is no place for inhuman treatment of anyone, including women and children in Anambra State.

Toyin Abraham reacts as Nollywood release new movie, ‘Iyawo Pastor Koza’
Actress Toyin Abraham and actor Yomi Black have both reacted to the poster of a movie titled ‘Iyawo Pastor Koza’ released by a Nollywood producer
The movie’s poster which shows top Yoruba actress Fathia Williams on the cover, was shared by Yomi Black with the caption:
“This is not the type of Nollywood flick we were talking about yesterday.! No time”.
In reaction, Toyin Abraham wrote:
“I can bet 100% is so fake. someone can change an old movie title to ‘one st*pid title’.
From the poster of the movie, one can immediately sense that it is positioned as a parody of the rape allegation leveled by Busola Dakolo against COZA pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.
The highly-publicized rape case has now been given full attention after the Inspector General of Police ordered it to be transferred to Lagos where Busola Dakolo filed her case before Biodun Fatoyinbo filed his in Abuja.
