Russia's 12-year-old girl dies after being sucked into a pool pump and trapped for 15 minutes underwater
A 12-year-old girl died on her Turkish vacation after sucking her arm into a swimming pool pumping machine in a vacation hotel, trapping her underwater.
Alisa Adamova, from St. Petersburg in Russia, was trapped under the surface for nearly 15 minutes as tourists, including her own dad, immediately attempted on August 18 to pull her free from drowning.
Guests say hotel employees at the famous resort Bodrum failed to switch off the strong pump immediately' because the switch could not be found.'
Ultimately, Alisa was pulled free with a piece of the pump still connected to her arm-which provided water to a pool slide.
Holidaymakers then called an ambulance and resuscitated Alisa from mouth to mouth.
Her heart was later restarted by paramedics but she died 11 days after the terrible event.
